To begin with I'd like to say that after the invention of a computer and different other devices people all over the world were constantly seeking the ways to use them all for communication with each other, as they were not satisfied with telephone conversation or letters once or twice a week.

No wonder these ways of communications were not convenient and sometimes even dangerous. It is obvious that the result was tremendous; nobody could think that it would turn our world upside down. But it did. Internet became stable, available and simple way of exchanging information.

Since that time Internet continues to develop and exist in various, sometimes unusual forms. In 80-s Internet was used mostly by students in the universities and scientific and research institutions.

It is important to note that American students got the access to electronic research resources while studying in the universities and colleges. When they graduated from these universities they missed an opportunity to use Internet and this was the catastrophe for all of them.

As a result "America on-line" (AOL) appeared as a service with low prices, which was invented especially for the needs of former students. By the way, today this system is the most popular system of the world.

However in some years' time these students began to use Internet to receive financial independence both in business and entertainment. No wonder in 90-s it became clear that business couldn't any longer exist without Internet and companies at last began to understand how Internet potential is important and useful for them and their purposes such as marketing and sale.

As far as I know from that time people began to invest a lot of money to Internet in order to get the necessary and quick information from any part of the world, to find new and important partners and establish necessary relations. And the number of organisations and people increases very much every year.

Today it is impossible to imagine our life, our work without computer, fax, and mobile phones and especially without Internet. And it's no wonder that Internet is called the ninth wonder of the world because it is really so. It is clearly seen that the globe is drawn in Internet fever and is not able to escape it.

It is necessary to note that many commercial companies, firms as well as common citizens try to march in step with rapid changes in information technologies and seek ways for using this new possibility. Nowadays many organizations learn how to use Internet in the most useful way.

It is obvious that global computer network connects governments, companies, universities, schools, colleges, firms and many other networks and users. Everybody knows that electronic mail, electronic conferencing, educational and chat services are all supported across the network.

As statistics says in the late 1990's around 60 million adults had access to the Internet only in the USA let alone many other countries as France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Spain, Russia, Ukraine, etc. As a result different web communities (for example, chat-room and others) appeared.

No wonder such web communities were especially invented to help people be closer to each other, to make friends and then continue their friendship. They also provide them with good and very fast service.

For instance, chat-room is an immediate service, which is not only convenient for many but also very much cheaper than telephone talks, especially talks with the help of mobile telephones.

As far as I know even old men and women nowadays prefer to communicate with their children using such web community as chat-room. In my opinion it’s the best way of communication these days. Who can argue with it?!

Let me speak detailier about this kind of web community. I'll try to observe advantages and disadvantages of chat-room in order to better understand the activity of many other web communities.

Of course, some people prefer the old way of sending letters and there is nothing terrible about it.
